Our lodge is a 32-bed, self-catering bush camp located 10 minutes from central Pietermaritzburg, 45 minutes north of Durban, 5-hours south of Johannesburg.

Acacia means real peace and quiet - close to town. Many of our guests were once patrons of PMB's hotels and guesthouses, but all were driven out by the incessant noise of the town. At Acacia we offer everything you need to accommodate self-catering. Accommodation is in eight, very comfortable wooden cottages each with its own private veranda.

In addition every cottage is equipped with DSTV, air-con, blankets, bedding, pillows, cutlery and crockery for four, a two-plate stove, microwave, pots and pans and a dining table with four chairs. Heaters and extra blankets are supplied in winter.

The atmosphere is true Natal bushveld with parkland lawns interweaving through indigenous veldgrass leading to a unique rock swimming pool. All around the lodge flat-topped acacias spread shade and there is plenty of shady parking.

Birding paths criss-cross the 9ha farm and antelope roam the veld and the bird life is prolific. Acacia is also ideally suited to large groups, such as school sport events, business people, and really worthwhile discounts are offered for extended stays: five or more nights / four or more cottages.

Acacia Bush Lodge is a 32-bed, self-catering bush camp about 10 minutes from central Pietermaritzburg and the Liberty Mall. Comfortable accommodation is offered in eight, bedded, air-conditioned wooden cottages. Each is fully equipped with high-quality appliances including stove, microwave, fridge and a full range of quality cooking utensils and crockery. All linen is provided – bring only your own food and toiletries. All cabins have a television with DSTV (Hotel Bouqet).

Every cottage is fully serviced excepting on Sundays.

Cottages with either a bath or a shower are available. There are lapas and braai areas between the cottages. When booking, select your preference for a shower or a bath. Between the cottages parkland lawns interweave through indigenous thorn tree veldgrass leading to a splendid rock swimming pool. Around it flat-topped acacias spread shade offering a perfect place for a braai.

The property’s extent is nine hectares of pure Natal bushveld with reedbuck and duiker roaming the grounds. There are birding walks set up around the property. There is also shady, secure parking. Acacia Bush Lodge caters well for large groups as well as individual travellers looking for peace and quiet. We have a large entrance to the lodge to accommodate, large trailers.
